Drawing Near to God when we Can't Draw Near to Each Other

The Bible tells us that Jesus is our High Priest and that we have this assurance: Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. (Hebrews. 7:25 ESV). We may go through deep trials, but Jesus is able to rescue us, and he is always praying for us. We are not alone. We are not without help.

In these days of "social separation," we are not able to draw together as we would like. We can still turn to the Lord in our own Bible reading and prayers. We can gather as families in small groups. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we can also get together online.

We made our first attempt of worshipping online last Sunday through a Zoom meeting. I am grateful for all those who made the effort to join us. It takes a little doing. There is always a learning curve to doing news things, and computer things can be tough to figure out. There were some glitches, but it did work.

The latest Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidance is no meeting with over 50 people for 8 weeks. It could be a while before we are able to all gather for worship. But we will keep trying to find was to encourage one another, and we will keep praying.

Wednesday night Bible Study will continue through zoom meetings. Through your phone, you can dial a number, enter a meeting id number, and you will be able to hear and talk in the meeting. Through a computer, you can see any participants who have cameras turned on. You can also turn on your own camera if you want others to be able to see you.

I'm no zoom meeting expert, and I will make mistakes, but we can figure things out together. If you want a brief 1 minute video on how to connect, you can click here.

To connect through computer or smartphone, enter or click the following link:

By phone: dial 1 312 626 6799, and enter the Meeting ID: 744 415 829

I hope you can link up with us online. Together, we will draw near to the Lord who is able to save us to the uttermost!

In Him,

Pastor Dave
